Nitrocellulose (also called cellulose nitrate or guncotton) is main raw material for manufacturing paints, guitar lacquers, wood vanishes and inks. Generally speaking, industrial nitrocellulose is usually damped by water and organic solvents for reducing rate of explosion or self-ignition. Damped nitrocellulose can be solid or liquid depending on the amount of damping agent used.

Nitrogen content of nitrocellulose should be less than 12.5%, a critical content to ensure secure transportation, storage and usage. The content of damping agent - either water or alcohol - should be more than 25% by weight. Considering different laws applied in different countries, nitrogen content can be customized depending on your special purposes.
Note: Nitrocellulose cotton is very dangerous. See the correct way of transportation and storage.
