Course Description
This qualification covers workers who use organisation policies, procedures and individual children's profiles to plan activities and provide care to children, facilitating their leisure and play and enabling them to achieve their developmental outcomes. Depending on the setting, workers may work under direct supervision nor autonomously.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, however the Institute requires that candidates:
* Possess English proficiency by successfully completing a LLN assessment
* Have the physical capacity to work as a Child Care Worker
* Have a positive attitude and caring value towards the kids
* Be able to pass a National Police Clearance, and working with children check, in order to gain employment in the Community Services industry
* Be willing to participate in workplace experience (un-paid) for up to 120 hours

Assessment Methods:
The assessment strategy for the Certificate III in Children's Services course draws on a range of methods, over a period of time and in a variety of contexts. Assessment requires achievement across all tasks to demonstrate competence.

Classroom:
The qualification is delivered over 14 week's classroom based training of 20 hours The qualification is delivered over 18 week's classroom based training of 20 hours face-to-face delivery per week for 15 weeks followed by 120 hours work placement.
Distance:
The qualification is delivered over 24 weeks which includes 120 hours work placement
